Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds a Distinguished Chair in Psychology at the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely known for her pioneering modern research of eyewitness accounts from children's memories as well as the role of children victims in court contexts. Professor Goodman is a prolific author and has been awarded many awards and grants. She has consulted with numerous governments and agencies throughout the world on policies and studies on children who are victims of the justice system. She currently acts as a advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a fellow of numerous professional associations, including The Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of women and trauma stress 56). She is the founder of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
